ABOUT US

Wellington Studios is a independent business founded in May 2018 by partners Sean McGrath and Felicity Faye

After spending many years feeling isolated and locked away in various dilapidated art studios, we had been thinking for a long time about a different way of existing in an arts environment. We wanted to create an affordable high quality art studio & co-working space focusing on a collaborative and social atmosphere that was lacking in the other studios we had previously been in. We wanted to take the best of both the arts and corporate worlds: affordable studio space without the grim setting and incorporate the social side of modern coworking without the corporate atmosphere.

When our last studio was booked in for demolition (Can you guess? More luxury apartments, hooray!) we decided to take our destiny in to our own hands and put our money where our mouth is!

Wellington Studios was born out of those desires and experiences. We are a independent art studio and event/workshop space set in the creative hub of Wellington House, Ancoats. We have converted an old industrial unit into a creative workspace and event space with 12 studios, meeting room.

Last year we built The Apex in an adjacent unit which we converted into seven mezzanine studios, one ground floor studio and a large ground floor gallery/workshop event space overlooking Ashton Canal.
